The focus of AIA Massachusetts legislative advocacy efforts are on issues that have direct impacts on the architectural profession. Each two-year legislative session, more than 7,000 bills are filed. Through its Government Affairs Committee (GAC), a review is performed to identify bills that specifically affect architects or the design and construction industry. The GAC then recommends positions of either support, opposition or neutrality.
