Who is AIA Massachusetts?

AIA Massachusetts (AIA MA) is a chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); one of nearly 300 state and local chapters across the country. Based in Washington, D.C., AIA has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857.

AIA MA is a consortium of the three local member chapters of the AIA. It consists of the Boston Society of Architects (BSA), AIA Central Massachusetts (AIA CM) and the Western Massachusetts AIA (WM AIA).

AIA MA is governed by a nine member Board of Directors comprised of three representatives from each of the three member chapters. Each Board member is either elected or appointed by their respective local member chapter.

As the state chapter, AIA MA represents the local member chapters on all legislative and regulatory matters of statewide interest. AIA MA also represents the local member chapters to all organizations and institutions whose jurisdiction is in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

AIA Central Massachusetts helps architects and designers with resources, networking opportunities and up to date information  about the architecture community in Central Massachusetts.
